Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

sounding is a free tool that builds San Diego County property reports on official data from local, state, and federal agencies. This policy explains what we do — and don't — with your information. The service does not currently require an account or sign-up.

Information you provide

To generate a report you enter an address and price (and, optionally, details like HOA, Mello-Roos, income, or loan preferences). We use these only to produce your report. If you save a report, it's stored at a private, unguessable link that you control — you can delete it anytime, and reports nobody opens for about two years are removed automatically.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers and providers log standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate the service, prevent abuse, and rate-limit requests. We do not use this to build advertising profiles ourselves.

Cookies and advertising

sounding is designed to be ad-supported. The Google AdSense script is present for site verification and spam and abuse detection, and may set cookies for those purposes, but personalized ads are not yet served. If and when advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Where required (for example, the EEA, UK, and similar regions), a consent choice will be presented before any personalized ads are served.

How we use information

To generate and deliver your reports, operate and secure the service, and, once advertising is enabled, to show ads that keep sounding free. We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some laws (including California's), the use of advertising cookies may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of information. You can opt out using the advertising controls above.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because the service does not currently operate accounts, the main data tied to you is any report you saved (delete it anytime from its link). To exercise other rights or opt out of ad-cookie sharing, use the advertising controls above or contact us below.

Children

sounding is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
